Dr. Susan McCouch Receives The Golden Sickle Award
Dr. Susan McCouch received a major award on November 5, 2007 in Thailand. The Golden Sickle Award was presented in Bangkok Thailand by H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to two recipients:
Dr. Gurdev Singh Khush (IRRI, the Philippines)
Dr. Susan McCouch (Cornell University, USA)
at the 6th Asian Crop Science Association Conference & the 2nd International Conference on Rice for the Future.
"Golden Sickle Award is an international award recognizing the achievements of individuals who have made contributions towards the advancement of rice research. The Award is nominated and selected by the Selection Committee comprising both Thai and foreign renowned scientists in rice research. This Award was conceived in 2005, commemorating the 1st Int'l Conference on Rice for the Future. The four exceptional recipients in 2005 included: HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Prof. Yuan Long Ping, Dr.John C. O'Toole and Dr. Takuji Sasaki. "
